INSIDE Shoreham & Southwick

A local magazine that goes each monthly to the homes of Southwick and Shoreham carrying local news and information as well as local business advertising. INSIDE Shoreham and Southwick was started in 2005 in by a local mum…Angela McEnery. Since then, with it’s combination of local news, local events, local people and local services it has gone from strength to strength and has become a really popular edition to Shoreham and Southwick life. In April 2024 it was sold to Tim Clark who as an experienced magazine publisher fancied the challenge having moved to Shoreham Beach in August 2023. Produced for the local community to make known local activities and groups going on around the area with the aim of connecting people up with each other and creating a stronger community spirit. Plus to create a cost effective and targeted way for local businesses to reach the wider community with a view to creating a more local customer base and a more prosperous local business scene.

The Shoreham Society

An independent voice for all who care about the town of Shoreham-by-Sea in West Sussex. Its remit covers planning, conservation, development, the local economy, environmental issues and general local interest. Formed in 1984, the society is a registered charity. It is strictly non-political and free from commercial interests. It works for the conservation of Shoreham’s historic architecture and the enhancement of the town’s environment by encouraging an enlightened approach to planning. It has positively influenced a number of important developments in the town, working with planners, developers and architects to achieve significant improvements to proposals. And through its conservation award scheme it gives public recognition for projects which improve the built environment.
Shoreham Wordfest

Shoreham Wordfest aims to support and encourage local creativity while also bringing high quality, inspirational speakers and performers to an annual festival of literature and arts every autumn. We also run an annual weekend celebration of Shakespeare in April and organise creative writing and other activities throughout the year.

Friends of Marlipins Museum

The Friends of Marlipins Museum work closely with the Sussex Archaeological Society to protect and maintain the Marlipins Museum. The Grade II listed building, dating from the 12th Century, is famous for its striking flint and limestone chequerboard façade. It has been a museum for nearly 100 years and it is home to a unique collection of more than 2500 exhibits reflecting the rich history of the area.
