All Aboard for the Big Birthday Celebrations! The Shoreham Society is heading up a big day of celebration for many of the things that feature heavily in Shoreham life and history which are reaching significant milestones, including 40 years of the Shoreham Society.

    • Listen to songs and music reflecting 200 years of the railways in Britain
    • Dress up and have your picture taken in a photobooth with the ‘Victorian Lead Porter’
    • Make a big birthday wish and hang it on the Big Birthday Wish Tree
    • Read about the impact of the railway on Shoreham and the surrounding area
    • Meet the makers of ‘Tracing the Rails’ documentary
    • Find out the latest on the Shoreham Society’s attempts to reinstate the railway subway for all to use
    • Meet those who worked on the railways and the old signal box in the 1980’s and relatives of the signalman who spent 39 years at Shoreham retiring in 1946 and the Blackboard Artist who advertised the nearest big league football matches.

As they say ‘fun for all the family’ and a chance to talk all things Shoreham and railway.
